the new grill
My husband got a new toy this weekend, in the form of this shiny new Char-Broil grill. He’s been eyeballing one for a while - the grill we have is several years old, and while it still worked, it did need some new parts. Also, because we didn’t have a covered patio in our last house, it got a big of weather wear. Now that we have a screened and covered lanai, we wanted a new grill to put on it, and thus, the Char-Broil came home with us a few nights ago. Jim fired it up tonight to make ribs for his buddies who are over for the big game, and it worked great. I really like the included griddle that you can use on the sideburner for veggies or even to make pancakes!

[…] This weekend was delightful, despite Catherine being sick. Friday night I picked up my niece and got in a little girls night out action, which included a big slab of New York cheesecake with fresh berries on top. Saturday morning was my cold and wet fundraiser - but hey, it put me another $176 closer to goal, so I can’t complain! Jim had the WHOLE weekend off too, which never happens. He got chores done around the house which included setting up his brand new grill and installing a wall mount shelf for the TV on our lanai. Sunday morning, he took the kids to church and I slept in, and then we did our errands and got ready for the big game. All of the children were tucked in and asleep by 8:30, despite to hootin’ and hollaring going on downstairs. I hung for a while in front of the big screen so I could see the halftime show, and kept my hands busy with that baby blanket I’m working on…it’s almost done! […]
