planting time
Our new landscaping curbing was put in today - yay! I came home to a much nicer looking out - on the outside at least
Because we now have a landscape edging, we went to Lowe’s tonight to pick out plants. We didn’t buy anything yet, because we’ve got to measure and plot things out at home, but we have a few things we’d like to buy. We live in a tricky part of Florida. It’s typically very sunny, and hot. You need plants that are drought resistant, and can take full sun. You also need plants that won’t die if you get a frost, because it’s been dipping down into the 30’s overnight.
We picked out Verbena, Plumbago, and my favorite - Azaleas. (I was just noticing all of the Azaleas in bloom today when I went to lunch - absolutely beautiful!) We have one side of the house that gets a lot more sun, so the Verbena & Plumbago will go there. The Azaleas are for the shadier side of the house.
I also promised my daughter she could grow a tomato plant. We had one at our old house and left it behind when we moved. We have a lot more space now, so I’ll probably end up being talked into a few other veggies being planted as well.
As soon as my husband has a day off, we’re getting our hands dirty!
