adjustable waist

Here’s a thought for manufacturers of children’s clothing. Put one of those adjustable waist doo-hickeys in EVERYTHING you make. Like adults, all children are not the same size. And sizes vary greatly too. The only thing that kept my son in long pants this year was being able to adjust the waist to cinch up the waistline on his skinny little body. We had the same issue shopping for shorts for my daughter this weekend. Yes, I could buy her elastic waist shorts, but when you’re almost 10 years old (practically a lady!) those are a teeny bit babyish.

Say it ain’t so! Elastic shorts are my fave…LOL…of course, I have an expanding and shrinking tummy based on what I’m eating! haha

Well… I am hoping to slenderize enough not to need elastic waists. But yes, for kids, you really need them no matter what!

My kids are skinny like that too. I noticed that some of the brands carried at Penneys now come in Slim sizes (for girls at least, didn’t check boys), plus have the adjustable waist thingies. I love it!

Does anyone know (or have an idea??) of how I could make my own adjustable “doo-hickey”? We bought shorts for my daughter that she SWORE fit her in the fitting room, but got home and washed them, now she says waist is too big. Trying to figure out how to put elastic or button or something in, so it’s not $$ down the drain. Thanks!
