never buy a razor again with infinity razor

Author: Colleen

I buy a certain brand of razor that costs me $20 for an 8 pack of razors. Each razor lasts me about 5 days (I shave every day, without fail, or I feel dirty.), so I’m going through a package in about 5 weeks. That’s another $20, for razors, every 5 weeks. I could buy a cheaper razor, but I’m kind of addicted to the job that the pricy one does. If I never had to buy a razor again, I’d be putting that $20 to much better use. And I wouldn’t be in my shower, leg on the shower seat, desperately making a 2nd or 3rd swipe at my leg, hoping to coax one more day out of my old razor blade. The infinity razor is a new razor blade designed to last FOREVER. It’s got some sort of special steel blade that won’t ever get dull, no matter how hairy my legs get! Gosh…I’d love to try that. No more dull blades, no more running out of razors…

sweet potty!

Author: Colleen

I was at a BBQ tonight, hosted by someone I work with up here in Boston, and he and his wife had a lovely home. I used the guest bathroom and paid close attention to their bathroom fixtures - noticing little things in a house like this is just something I do. They had this really neat sink that was a pedestal sink with a wooden base that allowed for extra storage underneath…I’d never seen anything quite like it! What I really love though, were the old fashioned faucet handles they installed - definitely not builder grade. It’s the kind of thing you need to buy online…perhaps at Faucet.com? (That’s a heck of a domain name they snagged, eh?)

unique bathroom vanities

Author: Colleen

When we built our home last year, we got to choose a lot of options, but none of the things we got to pick were truly custom. For example, I have a nice little island in my kitchen that matches the rest of my cabinets. Had I been given the choice, I would have loved to have done a custom cabinet in the center of my kitchen with a shelf for my cookbooks. In the bathrooms, we have standard cabinet vanities - I would have much rather had a unique bathroom vanity lthat looked like an antique. It’s unique home decor like the vanities pictured there that will set me apart from the other 10 people who have the same house I do in my neighborhood - LOL! You won’t find bathroom vanities like that at your local home improvement store either - your best bet for saving money on such an item is to order it online. You’ll pay much less than buying it locally.

In the meantime, I’ve thought about pulling down the huge (plain) mirror in my bathroom that the builder installed, and adding 2 framed oval mirrors about the double sinks. I hate knowing my bathroom isn’t unique, and I’d love to give it a little more style!

airbrush tattoo

Author: Colleen

I’m a wimp.

While I think some tattoos look cool, I would never, ever get one, for two reasons. As I said above, I’m a wimp. Reason #2, I’m fickle, and I’d probably end up changing my mind about 100 times before getting the tattoo, and then I’d have doubts afterwards about if I really got the perfect design.

So if you’re a wimp, or fickle, or a combination of both - never fear! A temporary airbrush tattoo is just what you need. Looks real enough to fool Hell’s Angels, or real enough to have your momma lecture you, but it won’t stick around forever. TAT International has the designs, stencils, ink, and kits you need to give yourself some temporary ink! And it’s MUCH safer than those nasty henna tattoos. Airbrushed ink is the way to go!

r.i.p - my revlon flat iron

Author: Colleen

When I arrived at my hotel in Pittsburgh last week, and unpacked, I noticed that I had sustained a casualty on the trip. My faithful Revlon flat iron had cracked and broken in 2, making it inoperable. We had shared so many good times and good hair days together.

I went to Target when I returned home and bought this new flat iron, by Conair. It’s called the Conair Dry N’ Straight Wet-to-Dry.

I thought it would be good for those mornings when my hair isn’t as dry as I’d like, since you can use it with wet hair. It also has a swivel cord and heats up fast. So far, I wish I still had my old Revlon flat iron! The Conair model is much lighter, which for some may be a plus, but I liked the heft of my old flat iron, and it seemed to weight my hair down better when I pulled it through. I also liked the little comb attached to the side of my old flat iron. My hair is VERY thick and it helped to pull my hair straight. The Conair version has small ridges on one of the plates to do the same thing, but it doesn’t work anywhere as well as the comb did.

I’m going to keep an eye out on eBay for my old flat iron - yes, I’m that desperate!

spendy makeup

Author: Colleen

I’ve been shaking the last little bit of foundation out of the Clinique bottle for 2 days now - a trip to the store is in order! I try to time my purchases for the Bonus Days offers, but it doesn’t always work out that way. And I also try to buy an extra bottle, but that doesn’t always work out either. At $20 a bottle for foundation, it’s already a little splurge, and sometimes I can’t bring myself to spend another $20 on the backup bottle, even though I know it will get used.

What about you? High priced makeup, or anything from the drugstore is fine?

ode to fresh brush

Author: Colleen

Oh Fresh Brush, I love you so,
You leave my toilet with a glow.
Cleaning ickies, grease and grime,
Freeing up all of my time.

Ok, I’m not a poet, but I do have much love for the Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush. In fact, I love it so much that I bought one for each of the bathrooms in the house. The Fresh Brush comes with a neat little handle that you can hang from your toilet tank, so you can put tuck it out of site. You’ll also find scrubby pads inside the package, and the button on the handle allows you to put on a pad without even touching the base of the handle. (I’m not a germaphobe, but who wants to touch something that’s been in the toilet?)

Once you dip the pad into the toilet, everything goes blue and bubbles appear. A quick swish around and everything is bright and shiny. Hit the button on the handle and the pad drops into the water so you can flush it away!

After using these, I can’t go back to a regular toilet brush! I even feel ok with letting my kids clean the toilet, since they don’t need to “touch” anything to do it. (They actually think it’s FUN too - shhh…don’t tell them otherwise!)
