One of my weaknesses is electronic items. Be it a shiny new optical mouse for my laptop, or a new wireless controller for my Playstation, I could spend hours looking at electronics, online or off. Even if I’m not in the market for anything new, I still enjoy looking at everything and making a mental list of must haves. I recently took notice of an online store called Your Electronic Warehouse, because they’ve been honored as Monster Cable’s E-Commerce Retailer of the year, which was presented on January 9, 2007, at the Monster Retailer Awards Program in Las Vegas, Nevada. How does one be considered for the award? Monster rates retailers on ease of navigation, product presentation (especially where Monster products are concerned), product mapping, consumer experience, and a quality online experience. It’s interesting to note that Your Electronic Warehouse beat out Amazon.com for this award!
At Your Electronic Warehouse, you can earn reward dollars on every item purchased, which can be used towards future purchases. You’ll get FREE ground shipping on all orders over $75, you won’t pay sales tax (unless you live in Illinois, sorry guys!), and they’ll match any authorized dealers best price. I can see why they won the E-Commerce retailer of the year award, with service like that!

My friend Laura shared the link for NoiseBot.com with me a few months ago, and I knew I’d find something there for Christmas for my husband.
When I spotted this T-shirt, I knew I had a winner. My husband is a HUGE hockey fan, and just Catholic enough that he wouldn’t object to wearing Jesus across his chest. The shirt has been a big hit - he wore it out a few times on vacation and people loved it. This week, he went to see the Tampa Bay Lightning play, so he wore the shirt again to show off. What’s really neat about all the products at NoiseBot.com is that you can customize them - for instance, I was able to choose any color of T-shirt once I picked out a design. I got the shirt for my husband in royal blue, to match the team colors of the Lightning.
I’ve got my next purchase there already picked out too - and this time, it’s for me. How cute is this “Get Low” shirt? Quite fitting since I have a daschund! And if you’re not into T-shirts, you can get a hoodie, or a tote bag. The shirt I got was $17.95, and it’s a nice cotton T-shirt - not too thin at all, so I know it will hold up when going through the laundry. Definitely worth the price, and worth a visit if you’d like to make a statement across your chest.

So you want to hang pictures, decorations, mirrors, or shelves…but you’re not so handy with a drill? Don’t forget, you need to find the studs and make sure everything is level, too! That must be why, after 7 months of living in our new house, we STILL have a stack of pictures waiting to be hung.
I’ve found the solution - Hercules Hooks! One of my fellow PayPerPosties, Dan, has found a great deal on these hooks on Amazon. For less than $15, you get 20 of the hooks and a laser level. The hooks will hold up to 150lbs each, and don’t require a drill or studfinder for installation. In other words, so easy, even I can do it! I absolutely love that I can use these and not wait on my husband anymore to hang pictures!
Not to mention, it’s great to hear about a “sold on TV” product that actually does what it claims!

My husband and I are on the hunt for some beautiful, but durable pieces to add to our lanai and yard. I love the look of wood furniture, but with the heat, humidity, and thunderstorms here in Florida, most woods won’t hold up long term. That’s why I was excited to see this website offering teak furniture that will hold up under any weather condition, without a lot of maintenance. I love the look of the teak adirondack chair pictured here.
It’s that time of year again - the Victoria’s Secret semi-annual clearance sale is here! You can shop the clearance online right now, and in stores starting January 3rd. And of course, I’ve got a Victoria’s Secret coupon code for you. You can get free shipping and handling on U.S. orders of $100 or more when you enter code “SEMI” at checkout.

This time of year always reminds me of my Mormor (grandmother) and sending her flowers for the holidays. She absolutely loved getting flowers, so it was a little tradition that my siblings and I would chip in on a holiday arrangement to send to her, like the ones at www.dotflowers.com. DotFlowers offers same day flower delivery, or delivery straight from the grower’s farm to anywhere in the US! They also offer a huge selection of gourmet treats and gift baskets that are sure to make an impression. The most important thing to me is customer service though, and DotFlowers has an award winning customer service department that sets them apart from the crowd.

UPS has been to my house several times in the past few days, dropping off packages from Drugstore.com, Skechers, and Victoria’s Secret. I don’t think I mentioned my Drugstore.com experience yet?
It all started with another offer from MyPoints - this one for fifteen points per dollar spent at Drugstore.com. I was able to find the Disney version of Scene It and a 20Q there for my daughter (for her birthday - 2 days after Christmas) and Drugstore.com threw in free shipping and a hand lotion that will end up being a stocking stuffer for my mom.
I could have found Scene It and 20Q locally for the same price, but I couldn’t turn down the points. I’m saving up again…for what, I don’t know. The last time I turned in my points I was able to get a $100 gift card for Linens N’ Things!
If you’re interested in joining MyPoints, leave me a comment and I’ll email you the info.
One of the things I love about the internet is the ability to comparision shop online. When I needed new sneakers, I went to Froogle and searched for the brand I wanted, and was able to save quite a bit over the price in my local running store.
Comparision shopping online doesn’t just work for sneakers and household goods - you can also comare and price auto insurance from the comfort of your own home. I get a new car insurance estimate about once a year to make sure that we’re getting the best rate possible from our insurance provider. So far, so good, but you can bet that if I found a lower rate, I’d switch in a heartbeat. I like the peace of mind of KNOWING I have the best rate possible too. It’s easy to get quotes online by using a site like CarInsurance.com - by putting in a few bits of information via their online quote form, you’ll receive insurance quotes from several companies at once. In some states, you can even purchase your insurance online. (My provider even lets me print insurance cars and pay my bill online - super handy!)
Have you ever heard of the Belisi brand? Peter Belisi is a designer who started out as a bartender in the Palm Beach scene, waiting on the very people he wanted to be a part of. He decided to start his own company and developed the Belisi brand of neckties to enhance luxury wardrobes. He’s now added scarves and handbags to his brand lineup at Belisi.com. Belisi neckties offer classic stying and patterns to set men apart from the crowd, and they are hand-made from silk. A necktie can make or break a mans wardrobe, so make sure that you’re promoting the right image with the neckties you wear.
I love Skechers - they’re some of the most comfy sneakers and shoes I’ve ever worn. We have a great outlet here in Tampa and I’ve been able to get Skechers on clearance there for some crazy low prices. Being that it’s an outlet of course, they don’t usually have a big selection on the regular styles, and I’ve been coveting these shoes (Bikers) since I saw them a year ago. I just couldn’t see myself spending $50 on a pair of shoes though, regardless of how much I liked them or how comfy they were.
Today, that all changed. I got an email from MyPoints offering me 500 points to make a purchase at Skechers.com, AND there was a coupon code on the website offering 15% off any order over $60, free shipping, and NO sales tax! If you’re interested in buying something there, use code THANKS15. If you’re a MyPoints member, you can save 20% using the coupon code MYPTSGIFT, and you’ll also get free shipping and pay no sales tax. When I put my shoes into my online cart, I was also told that I’d get a free Skechers watch with any shoe order over $65.00 (not including tax and shipping fees). So I picked out the pair shown above for me (BIKERS - SIGHTSEE) and picked out a pair for the boy (ANNEX - STRIKER) that he had liked in Kohl’s, but they didn’t have his size.
My total before the discount was $92.00
My total after was $73.60
Not bad!
It’s well known that I’m an Old Navy addict. Much of my wardrobe comes from Old Navy. For instance, they are the old store when I can find pants for work that fit and are comfortable - gotta love those super khakis in the extra long length! I also like that their clothes are reasonably priced (even more so when you hit a good sale) but still give you some sense of style when you wear them.
That said, I wanted to let you all know about the Old Navy email I got with some great deals when you shop online! They have a whole page of deals on their site, with prices starting at $1.99 for Old Navy Flip-Flops, to $10 for long sleeved Henleys, $15 for shorts, and $20 for pants. If you spend $75 or more online, use the promo / coupon code “MYGIFTSHOP” to save 10% off your order.
I’m thinking some of those cheap flip flops might make their way into a few Christmas stockings around here…
How many times did your parents yell that at you when you put your drink down on their nice end tables? I find myself repeating that mantra to my own kids, and even my husband from time to time. We just bought a new dining room room set, and we’ve got new end tables and a coffee table in our family room, so the last thing I want is to ruin that new stuff with a wet glass. Right now, I’m ashmed to admit we’re using some cheesy plastic and foam coasters we bought for a temporary fix this summer. Somehow…the months went by and we kept using them and I just haven’t found something I like to replace them with yet.
I definitely like the AbsorbaStone coasters. Some are a bit too cutesy for my liking, but others are more neutral and I could see using them in our home. I could get behind this martini glass set though! I wonder how absorb-ing that stone actually is though? If the condensation is going to roll off the coaster and onto my table, that’s a no-go. That’s why I prefer a coaster with a little lip around it to keep that from happening.
If I wanted to go really high-end, these coasters from Williams-Sonoma would be perfect! They’re simple, but elegant, yet not too over the top. They even have a little rim around the edge to keep that pesky condensation from spilling over. Sadly, pewter is not very absorbant, so if you leave your drink sitting for too long, you’ll end up with a small lake surrounding your drink in this coaster. The $59 pricetag for a set of 4 may be a dealbreaker too. ($69 if you want the set monogrammed with an initial!)
So the search continues…who knew coasters would end up being such a statement for the house?

When we moved into our new home in May, we had naked windows. The builder could have installed blinds for us, but we averaged out the cost of the installation by the number of windows in our new home, and the price per window was insane. Yes, it would have been easier to have someone else do it, especially when we were trying to paint and unpack, but I couldn’t justify paying 2 or 3 times too much for blinds on each window.
We ended up buying white 2 inch faux wood blinds for every room in the house, and we saved a lot of money by doing it on our own. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to install blinds - as long as you can handle a drill and a tape measure, you’re good to go. If you’re wondering why we chose the faux wood, it’s because it holds up a lot better in the heat and humidity of Florida. It looks real, but it won’t warp! Buying blinds and window treatments online from a store like Guaranteed Blinds will save you a lot of money, but you’ll still get a great high end, custom look. You don’t need to worry about measurements either - just decide how you want your blinds to hang and then follow their measurement guide to get the perfect fit.
