black singles

Author: Colleen

Sometimes opposites attracted, but typically, you’re attracted to a potential mate because of what you DO have in common. When I met my husband and found out we both attended the same church, it was an instant bond. People are always searching for like minded singles to date, and that’s the reason that niche dating sites are so hot right now. There are sites where you can meet someone of the same religion, or sites that hook up black singles. You can join for free and instantly find people in your area to connect with!

filler item finder

Author: Colleen

How many times have you shopped on Amazon and been tempted by their free super saver shipping option? You need to spend at least $25 to get free shipping, and I’ve gone back and looked some more plenty of times, trying to find a small item to buy to save myself the shipping. Sometimes, I get lucky, other times, I get discouraged.

The Amazon Filler Item Finder was created with buyers like me in mind - it’s a search function that will find items of a specific price for you so that you qualify for free shipping:

Certain items at Amazon.com qualify for free shipping, but sometimes purchase fall short of the minimum $25 needed to recieve the free shipping. Enter the amount you need to get free shipping in the box above to see a list of products that will get you free shipping.

You can search by categories to narrow down your search as well:

Baby, Books, Classical, DVD, Electronics, Kitchen, Music, Office Products, Outdoor Living, Pet Supplies, Photo, Software, Sporting Goods, Tools, VHS, Video Games

There’s also a version for Amazon.ca, Amazon.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.jp, and Buy.com.

dial a flight deals

Author: Colleen

We’ve done a great deal of searching for airfare to Europe over the past few months…and I have one thought.

I wish I already lived overseas so I could take advantage of all of the great deals from London to other hotspots. Living in the US, I can fly to other cities and states cheaply, but it’s not the same as getting on a 2 hour flight and ending up in a completely different country! And with the British pound being what it is right now, people in the UK aren’t just getting deals on airfare in Europe - they’re making out like bandits coming to the USA as well. Just take a look at these New York weekend breaks. 455 pounds for airfare and 3 nights of hotel accomodations in NYC. I had to pull out my currency converter and find out how much that was in USD - and it’s less than $900. I can’t find any deals going to the UK for that kind of money…believe me, I’ve looked!

i won, again!

Author: Colleen

Boy, if you guys haven’t tried out this free book giveaway yet - why not? I got ANOTHER free book this week - that’s my second time winning a free book through this promotion. I’m a huge reader, so anytime I can get a book for free, it’s win-win. This time, with 2 free books, it’s literally, “win-win”! As soon as I’m finished with the new Christopher Moore book I’m reading, I’ll be diving into my free book (I picked a copy of one called “The Dollmaker”)

friday finds!

Author: Colleen

gladeI went to Target on Friday and found some good deals…the one I wanted to share were the Glade plug in fans with extra outlets. They were on sale for $5.99 and each package had a $3 off coupon on it, so I was able to get them for only $3 each! I really like that each Glade fan has not one, but TWO extra outlets on it, so you’re gaining an outlet with each fan that you use. We’re trying the Clean Linen scent upstairs for now, to alleviate the “doggy smell” that comes with owning 2 dogs. I think I may move one downstairs when the oil is empty and try the Vanilla scent in my kitchen. There’s an adjustable wheel on the front of each fan so you’re able to control the amount of scent that is “sent” out.

ebates

Author: Colleen

Have you ever tried Ebates? By becoming an Ebates member and shopping through the Ebates store, you can save lots of moolah. You can easily earn up to 25% cashback on whatever you buy, and they’ve got an Apple store on there where you can get your iPod and earn cash back. (That probably would have been helpful to know before I got my iPod last month, eh?) How does it work? When EBates gets a sales commission, they turn around and share it with you to say “thanks for shopping”. It’s nice to be appreciated it, especially when it involves getting cash back!

free books

Author: Colleen

bookI love reading - always have. When I was a kid, I read constantly - in the bathroom, during breakfast, on car rides. I didn’t go anywhere without a book in my hand. I still love to read, and usually visit the library at least once a week. I just finished two Fannie Flagg books, and Memoirs of a Geisha. I also buy books from time to time, but that can get pricy…so I was very excited to find out about the Great American Book Giveaway. They give away free books every week, with no strings attached! Just visit their site and sign up…and you may just get some free books.

mypoints

Author: Colleen

Do you belong to MyPoints? I sent a friend a referral to it this week and was shocked that he had never heard of it - I thought everyone on the internet was signed up! For those of you who don’t know, MyPoints is a reward program - they send you emails with offers - you take them, and you earn points. The nice part is that you earn points just for visiting the site in the email - you don’t have to buy a thing if you prefer not to. I’ve been a member for YEARS and they have great rewards. You can choose to get a giftcard from just about any store out there. The last time I turned in points, I got a $100 gift card to Linens N’ Things, which I used to buy the duvet for my bedroom. If you’re interested in signing up, drop me a comment on this entry and I’ll send you the invite!

silver jewelry club

Author: Colleen

A few months back, someone on a message board introduced me to SilverJewerlyClub.com. If you’ve never seen the site, it’s worth a look. Everytime you visit, you’ll find something new - literally. At any given time, they have four products available on their site. If you don’t see anything you like, wait a few minutes and refresh the page, and the offerings will change. The selection is limited - for instance, when a ring is offered for sale, it’s only offered in one size. Their prices can’t be beat though - because you’ll pay just $5.99 for each item, SHIPPED. Their rings and pendants feature gemstones like peridot, garnet, blue topaz, and more. Everything is made out of pure sterling silver. I’ve ordered several pieces from them and been impressed - and the price is definitely right!

garland

Author: Colleen

I got garland for my tree next year, and best of all, it was marked down to $3 a strand. I found it in Cracker Barrel this week, along with my discounted Yankee Candles. The garland is made to look like jingle bells, and while it’s not just like the old fashioned candy garland I had, it’s a nice replacement.

target clearance

Author: Colleen

We hit Target last night and my store still had TONS of Christmas decor, ornaments, wrapping paper and more for 50% off. I was surprised at how much of it was left! The aisles for it were a complete and total wreck, but that’s ok when there are bargains to be found.

victoria’s stash

Author: Colleen

My package from my Victoria’s Secret shopping spree came earlier this week, but I just got to open it up and take a look.

I got the free black satin slippers, and they’re all fuzzy on the inside. Definitely warm and toasty. For future reference, their sizes run small, as I wear an 8 and the ones I got are barely big enough.

Plaid jammies - warm and toasty! I’m saving them for our skiing trip next week. It’s too warm here in Florida right now for flannel jammies. They did come in a matching flannel bag too, which is pretty cute.

The free cami is very nice - I got it in black, of course. Goes with everything!

And last but not least, I got 2 other freebies. A very nicely done up gift box with 6 different VS perfumes in it. That will go to my sister to go along with the VS gift certificate we got her. I also got a nice gift set of VS lotions, and that will go to my mom. For freebies, they are really nice - I was impressed!

Oh, and I also got an additional little surprise from VS this week via my husband, who brought me new panties home from Chicago. He got me the Body By Victoria low rise string bikini - super comfy! I’m hoping Santa brings me some more of those.

ups stalker

Author: Colleen

UPS has been to my house several times in the past few days, dropping off packages from Drugstore.com, Skechers, and Victoria’s Secret. I don’t think I mentioned my Drugstore.com experience yet?

It all started with another offer from MyPoints - this one for fifteen points per dollar spent at Drugstore.com. I was able to find the Disney version of Scene It and a 20Q there for my daughter (for her birthday - 2 days after Christmas) and Drugstore.com threw in free shipping and a hand lotion that will end up being a stocking stuffer for my mom.

I could have found Scene It and 20Q locally for the same price, but I couldn’t turn down the points. I’m saving up again…for what, I don’t know. The last time I turned in my points I was able to get a $100 gift card for Linens N’ Things!

If you’re interested in joining MyPoints, leave me a comment and I’ll email you the info.

coke rewards

Author: Colleen

cokeMy love for Coca-Cola has finally paid off. For the past few months, I’ve been collecting (and inputting!) the Coke Rewards code on each 12 pack we buy. And lordy, do we buy a LOT of Coke! The codes off smaller packages are worth 3 points, and the codes off the 12 packs are worth 10 points. Once you input your codes, you’ll be able to see how many points you have. You can then spend your points on everything from free magazine subscriptions to free Blockbuster rentals to exclusive Coca-Cola items. Save your points, and you can apply them to high end rewards! I turned in my points today and got a 12 month subscription to Good Housekeeping and a 12 month subscription to RedBook - not bad freebies for buying something I neededwanted anyway!

victoria’s secret pajama deal

Author: Colleen

One of my sources just sent me this deal, and it works! I spent $40 on the Victoria’s Secret pajama set and paid shipping and tax, but got everything else for free. Here’s what to do:

Select a pair of VS pajamas. (I got flannel, but try satin to see if that works too!)
Add the pajamas to your cart.
Select 2 pairs of slippers and add them to your cart. (FYI, the satin slippers differ from those offered with the flannel pajamas, so check both out!)
Find your free cami and add it to your cart (go to the page to select flannel pajamas, the camis are listed there)

When you check out, enter the following coupon codes for Victoria’s Secret:

SLIPPER - Free slippers with the purchase of select pajamas. (Add qualifying slippers to bag and price of slippers will be adjusted once code is added.)
FA63601 - Free slippers with the purchase of select pajamas. (Add qualifying slippers to bag and price of slippers will be adjusted once code is added.)
FA63613- Free CAMI, with select sleepwear purchase. A $19 value. (Place desired cami into cart and the price of cami will be adjusted once code is added.)
FA63721 - Free holiday fragrance giftset with any sleepwear purchase.
FA63745 - Free garden giftset with any sleepwear purchase.
FA63481 - Take $5 off your first purchase from this catalog.

(Fragrance sets will be added to your cart when you put in the code)

My cart contents totalled over $100, and after adding all of the correct items and inputting the codes, it went down to $43.94 with tax and shipping! Not bad for a pair of jammies, 2 pairs of slippers, a cami, and 2 free gift items!
