boiler repair

Author: Colleen

Living in Florida, I know a thing or two about HVAC and getting it fixed. No one wants to have their a/c go out in the middle of the summer. Likewise, no one north of here wants their boiler to go kablooey. One thing that I’ve learned, and this doesn’t matter if you’ve got an a/c unit, a boiler, electric heat, or if you depend on ice cubes to cool you down - when something breaks like that, you’re at the mercy of the company that comes to fix it. For those of you in the northeast, this Philadelphia Boiler Repair company is worth a call. Serving industrial companies for over 50 years, Abbot Service is one of those companies that’s still in business because they do good work. They’re certified by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors as well. Who would you choose to do your maintenance work…a company that’s been around for a few years, or one that’s been serving the community for over 50 years?

try VoIP for free

Author: Colleen

Do you have VoIp? We do, and I love it. I wish I had known that we’d be getting it when we moved in, because I wouldn’t have worried about placing phone jacks throughout the house during the construction process. Vonage is one of the biggest names in the VoIP (that’s “Voice over Internet Protocol”) and most of the VoIP services, Vonage included, give you a lot of extras in your monthly cost. My service includes caller ID (and since it’s bundled with our cable, it flashes the number and the name of the caller on my TV AND my phone), voicemail, 3 way calling, call waiting, and all of the other bells and whistles. Right now you can save up to 50% or more off your phone bill with Vonage! Just click the Vonage link shown here and you’ll see a special coupon offer for 1 free month. It’s a greal way to try out VoIP and slash your monthly phone bill in half, not to mention, your whole first month is completely free!

big business

Author: Colleen

I work for a company that deals a lot with software…and I just saw the budget for the next phase of our project. We’ll be purchasing some new software and mods for it, and that, combined with the consulting fees - wow. Let’s just say I could have a great time at the mall with some cash like that! The group I work with will be using financial consolidation software to keep us on track for our financial reporting to keep this big budget on track.

a new tv

Author: Colleen

Ever since we got new furniture for our bedroom, my husband and I have been eyeballing new TV’s. Isn’t it funny how one purchase leads to another? Part of the reason is the wardrobe cabinet we have. My husband uses the bottom drawers for his clothes, but the middle section is made for a TV, and our 20 inch hand me down from my mom looks downright pitiful in there. And when I’m hogging the TV downstairs, Jim enjoys watching hockey upstairs, but it’s not in high def…which he’s gotten quite used to!

Anyway, the point of all this rambling is to share the deal we got. Jim spotted a TV in the Staples (the last place I would have gone for a deal on a TV!) ad for Presidents Day weekend, and after calling the local stores, we discovered there were none left in stock. I found it online, grabbed a code for free shipping from CouponCabin.com and we were good to go. Probably the first time I’ve bought a TV without seeing it first, but I know we can return it the local Staples if we don’t like it. It’s a nice wide screen HDTV that can even be wall mounted, if we so desire. And it arrives on Friday!

gaming

Author: Colleen

The first thing I ever did on my computer was play games. Before we had internet access, I’d spend an hour or two playing Freecell or Solitaire. Once we got internet access, I discovered I wasn’t just limited by card games - there’s a whole world out there of online gaming. The problem? Lots of online gaming sites charge a monthly or yearly pay to play fee, and some bombard you with popups and spam. That’s not the case over at Cafe.com. They want to provide the best gameplay and social experience on the internet, so they give it away for free. They also promise you no adware, spyware, and no spam!

I took a look at their site, and while the games listed on the main page are limited, they are only in Beta. The concept is casual gaming with a social element. They provide avatars to members, a way to “accumulate” game possesions, and a way to keep in touch with friends. Also of note - their site is not just aimed at teens or kids - it’s got games for everyone to enjoy.

I’d like to see the site increase the number of games in the coming months, as well as provide a way for members to find friends easily and even set up gaming tournaments.

shopping carts

Author: Colleen

I’m not talking about the bright red shopping carts at Target, I’m talking about a virtual shopping cart. Where would we be without them? Could you imagine picking out what you wanted online, only to have to call in an order? Or print out a form and mail it in? Shopping cart software makes shopping online much easier, but shopping cart software ISN’T always easy to set up. I’ve been there, and done that! Now Ashop Commerce is providing you with shopping cart hosting that is so easy, your online store can be up and running in hours. Remember, the easier the shopping cart is to use, the more customers you’ll have!

monitor repair

Author: Colleen

We’ve got a computer from 1999 upstairs - the monitor on that thing is HUGE. It’s as big as a TV, and a thick as one too. Well, a TV from the 90’s, that is. If we hadn’t gotten a laptop, it would be the kids computer, but the first thing I’d do was switch out that monitor, since it’s such a beastly size. And if you’ve upgraded your computer monitor at any point, chances are, you want to protect your investment. The nice part about PC’s is that you can switch out your 1999 monitor for a nice flat panel display and not worry about messing with your hard drive. And should something go wrong with your new monitor, you can go a monitor repair shop. Neat, huh? I wonder if they do anything with the touch screens on cameras…we’ve got one, and it works perfectly now, but it’s only a matter of time. LOL!

your electronic warehouse

Author: Colleen

One of my weaknesses is electronic items. Be it a shiny new optical mouse for my laptop, or a new wireless controller for my Playstation, I could spend hours looking at electronics, online or off. Even if I’m not in the market for anything new, I still enjoy looking at everything and making a mental list of must haves. I recently took notice of an online store called Your Electronic Warehouse, because they’ve been honored as Monster Cable’s E-Commerce Retailer of the year, which was presented on January 9, 2007, at the Monster Retailer Awards Program in Las Vegas, Nevada. How does one be considered for the award? Monster rates retailers on ease of navigation, product presentation (especially where Monster products are concerned), product mapping, consumer experience, and a quality online experience. It’s interesting to note that Your Electronic Warehouse beat out Amazon.com for this award!

At Your Electronic Warehouse, you can earn reward dollars on every item purchased, which can be used towards future purchases. You’ll get FREE ground shipping on all orders over $75, you won’t pay sales tax (unless you live in Illinois, sorry guys!), and they’ll match any authorized dealers best price. I can see why they won the E-Commerce retailer of the year award, with service like that!

123inkjets

Author: Colleen

I’ve ordered from 123InkJets in the past, and I was very pleased with the price, the shipping time, and the ink quality. I bought the “off-brand” stuff, and it’s just as good as the much pricier Epson ink. I’m on their newsletter now, so I thought I’d pass along a little coupon savings to you:

EXTRA 22% OFF YOUR PRINTER INK ORDER
Your Coupon Code: 2007NEWYEAR2
Expires: January 15, 2007

You MUST use this link in order to use the coupon:

Enjoy!
